The U.S. Embassy in Port of Spain is offering grants for creative and sustainable projects that align with U.S. interests and contribute to societal and institutional growth in Trinidad and Tobago. Eligible applicants include non-profits, NGOs, academic institutions, and social enterprises based in Trinidad and Tobago, as well as U.S.-based institutions with local partnerships. For-profit entities are not eligible.
Projects must support one or more of the three pillars of U.S.-Trinidad and Tobago collaboration: Security, Accountable Governance, and Inclusive Growth. Multiple grants will be awarded, with individual grants up to $50,000. Proposals must be no more than five double-spaced pages and include key details such as project summary, duration, objectives, budget, and organizational capacity.
Applicants must be registered on SAM.gov and have an NCAGE and Unique Entity Identifier (UEI). Funds cannot be used for salaries, equipment over $500, or refreshments. Applications must be submitted electronically to posgrants@state.gov by **July 15, 2024**.
Certain projects are ineligible for funding, including for-profit trade and commercial activities, construction, scientific research, political or religious activities, and scholarships. While cost-sharing is not required, proposals that include additional funding sources will be more competitive. The grant duration may not exceed one year.
